The pineapple is not only a favorite fruit in Hawaii; it
is also popularmotif for a Hawaiian Quilt design. It represents hospitality
and aloha. The Laua’e fern grows along the ground where it sends out
ryhzones and the new growth sprouts up and out as it travels. I created this
quilt in 1999 and use the pineapple and laua’e to represent the hospitality
in the hearts of the people who have so much aloha to share wherever they
travel.
